What is a supplier ledger (creditors ledger)?
A supplier ledger, also called a creditors ledger or accounts payable ledger, keeps one running account per supplier. Every bill you receive on credit increases what you owe, every payment you make reduces it, and the balance is the amount still payable. It is the mirror image of a customer ledger: there you track who owes you, here you track whom you owe.
How to use the free supplier ledger
- 1Record purchases in the Purchase Register and choose Credit as the payment mode when you have not paid yet.
- 2Open the Supplier Ledger and pick the supplier — their credit bills are already listed with the amount due.
- 3When you pay, choose Payment made, pick the bill or leave Oldest bills first, choose how you paid and tap Record payment.
- 4Use Bill / opening balance for amounts owed from before you started, or bills you did not record in the register.
- 5Check the Accounts Payable Aging report to see which unpaid bills are getting old.
Pay the oldest bills first
Suppliers usually apply payments to their oldest invoices, and this ledger settles an unlinked payment the same way, so your balance matches theirs. If a supplier asks you to clear a specific bill, pick it under Against bill when you record the payment. Check the Accounts Payable Aging report every week so no credit bill slips past its due date.

A running account for each supplier you buy from on credit. Bills increase what you owe them, payments reduce it, and the balance tells you exactly how much is still payable — the creditor side of your books, the mirror image of a customer udhaar khata.
No. Any purchase recorded in the Setu Purchase Register with payment mode Credit appears in the supplier's ledger automatically. Purchases paid by Cash, UPI, Card or Bank transfer were settled on the spot, so they are not added as bills.
Pick a bill under Against bill to pay that bill specifically, or leave it on Oldest bills first and the payment settles the supplier's oldest unpaid bills first. If you pay more than you owe, the extra shows as an advance with that supplier.
Both use the same numbers. Pull from Purchase Register in the aging report brings in only credit bills that are still unpaid, and tapping Mark paid there records the payment in this ledger, so the bill never comes back.
Yes. Choose Bill / opening balance, enter the amount you owed the supplier on the day you started, and add a note such as old balance. Payments you record afterwards settle it like any other bill.
