Cross-Selling
Also called: cross sell, cross-sell
What is Cross-Selling?
Cross-selling offers a complementary product alongside what a customer is buying — a drink with a meal, a case with a phone, a dessert with a main. It adds a separate item rather than upgrading the existing one.
Why Cross-Selling matters
Cross-sells are where basket size grows. They are also usually high-margin, since drinks, sides and accessories generally carry better margins than the anchor item.
How Cross-Selling works in practice
Pair items deliberately based on what already sells together, and place the suggestion where the decision happens — on the menu, at the counter, at checkout.
