Payslip
Also called: salary slip, pay slip
What is Payslip?
A payslip is the statement issued to an employee each pay period showing earnings, deductions and net pay. It is a legal requirement in most cases and the employee's proof of income.
Why Payslip matters
Payslips are what employees need for loans, rentals and visas, and they are the first document produced in any wage dispute. Their absence is a compliance problem in itself.
How Payslip works in practice
Issue every month, with each component and deduction shown separately rather than as a lump. Keep copies, since employees frequently ask for older months long after leaving.
