Expiry Tracking

Also called: expiry date tracking, shelf life tracking

What is Expiry Tracking?

Expiry tracking records the use-by or best-before date of each batch and flags items approaching it, so they can be sold, discounted or removed before they become worthless.

Why Expiry Tracking matters

Expired stock is a total loss and, in food and pharmacy, a compliance risk. Most expiry write-offs are avoidable with a week's notice, which is exactly what tracking provides.

How Expiry Tracking works in practice

Store the expiry date with the batch at receiving, and review a near-expiry report weekly. Discounting seven days out recovers far more than discovering the problem on the expiry date itself.

Frequently asked questions
