API Integration
Also called: API, system integration
What is API Integration?
An API integration lets two systems exchange data automatically — a POS sending sales to accounting software, or an aggregator pushing orders into a kitchen display — without anyone retyping anything.
Why API Integration matters
Manual re-entry between systems is slow and produces mismatches nobody notices until reconciliation. Integrations remove both, though they add a dependency to maintain.
How API Integration works in practice
Integrate the flows with real daily volume — orders in, sales out — and leave low-volume tasks manual. Every integration needs a plan for what happens when it silently stops working.
Frequently asked questions
Only where re-entry volume justifies it. Below that, a CSV export is usually enough.
