What is Goods Receipt Note?
A goods receipt note, or GRN, records what was physically received against a purchase order — quantities, condition and any shortages. It is the document that turns a delivery into a stock entry.
Why Goods Receipt Note matters
The GRN is the control point between the order and the invoice. Paying against an invoice without checking the receipt is how businesses pay for goods that never arrived or arrived short.
